M.M is one of our many student patrons seeking to get a head start on building a professional wardrobe. Having come to Canada from Iran to study medicine, he is ready to wear bespoke befitting of a doctor.
For his first bespoke piece we wanted to make something as unique as he is. After a consultation with him, we agreed on a check sport coat in a rather unique colour combination: warm brown lines on a background of soft blue and soft green. It’s bold but can be dressed up or down as needed, and the tortoiseshell buttons complement the warmth of the pattern. We also included our standard double-sided button on the top button. We enjoy including this detail for its versatility as well; it allows a bespoke garment to be worn in subtly different ways and it shows off the incredibly careful roll of the lapel. This shaping is achieved through a careful pressing process, one that builds the arc of the roll so that it is resilient enough to keep its shape without any harsh lines or folds. This is the quality of a true bespoke jacket –– contemporary in detail but timeliness in quality.
