This client came to us as many do: he knew a client of ours and was introduced that way. Many of our clients come to us through invitations from colleagues and friends — if not through the infamous BlogTO post — as we are a family house and prefer to take on more intimate projects rather than mass-production. We enjoy being one of Toronto’s best kept secrets.
While many clients are satisfied to sit back and leave the reins dangling, we were delighted to have a challenge with this project. In many ways, it’s been a dance between giants: a bespoke tailor with two degrees, numerous apprenticeships and decades of experience along with a sartorial fashionista, someone who has assembled the penultimate vision of himself and will patiently see it through every step of the way. It isn’t something you see every day.
These are the relationships we relish most at Trend, as they are the ones that truly test our capabilities and see us through on to the next project. In fact, this patron has already started another project with us, this time with another spin: he will be documenting the project every step of the way to make the experience even more personal and unique, as bespoke should be.
