Last month, we began working on a colourful and creative suit for a Sikh wedding. As mentioned in part I of this project, Sikh weddings are quite vibrant when it comes to decor and costume. With our client tired of modern men wearing simple black suits to such an expressive and traditional occasion, he decided to go against the grain and mix his modernism with a bit of traditional flair.
Inching closer and closer to completion, this suit is now accompanied by a lush velvet vest made of fabric taken from Scabal’s Festival collection. The fabric is done in a deep plum colour which will work as a sort of A/W neutral when our patron later decides to mix and match the vest with other pieces in his wardrobe.
The textured vest is a dramatic complement to the reptilian-esque jacket which will feature a linked button closure — one our house’s signatures.
Stay tuned for the final shots of this suit as well as photos of our patron at his lively celebration.
